Tiradentes, in Minas Gerais, is a true historical treasure, where Brazil's colonial past comes to life. Its cobblestone streets, preserved mansions, and baroque churches, such as the iconic Matriz de Santo Antônio, tell stories dating back to the 18th century. The city is home to fascinating museums. Strolling through Tiradentes is like traveling back in time, amidst a setting full of architecture, art, and culture, revealing the central role this city played in Brazilian history.
Field trip
A moderate-level hike through natural pools on the western flank of the Serra de São José. It offers panoramic views of the Rio das Mortes Valley and the Maria Fumaça steam train tracks, as well as Atlantic Forest, campos rupestres (rupestrian grasslands), and old mining areas.
